Jesus Christ, checks over stripes dude. What a show…. The message of the night that I hope the audience caught was “FIGHT BACK!” They are clearly a politically charged band, but it’s hard to focus on the message for certain songs such as “Wide Awake!” cause it does have an important tone of being aware of what is happening around you, but it is such a catchy tune that it contradicts itself, but that isn’t a bad thing. That’s probably my favorite kind of music. It sounds like fun but it conveys a darker meaning. They kicked it off with “Total Football” which really got the crowd going, and seeing as though the photographs weren’t aware of who would sing, they were drawn to the middle mic, but they were wrong. This band cares but doesn’t, and they’re important to our generation. I hope they bloom into something of the likes of Joy Division or the Buzzcocks. Post-punk is coming back in a huge way and I adore every minute of it because we get bands like this.
