JPEGMAFIA PERFORMED ALONGSIDE BROWN FOR SCARING THE HOES
“I’m 43 years old, I can’t be jumping all the time and shit,” Detroit Rapper Danny Brown joked with the audience at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The night featured opener Bruiser Wolf and a small set with JPEGMAFIA to perform a handful of tracks off Brown’s and his collaborative album Scaring the Hoes Vol. 1. The crowd went berserk during the latter, with Peggy commanding the stage as Brown bobbed back and forth.
Brown seemed in his element, constantly joking with the fans and even reaching out to the front row to autograph vinyls they’d been holding up for the duration of the show. Popular tracks “Really Doe” and “Ain’t It Funny” were performed with ease and the audience even popped with newer tracks, showing the authentic fan fair they shared for Brown. Danny Brown walked off stage only to return quickly for a one song encore of “Side B (Dope Song).” He shared of his 1 year sobriety to which the audience cheered, and Brown also said it was passed his bed time: “I should be in bed watching 90 Day Fiancé.” A true treasure in the hiphop community.
